Re: Is there a diff. between a 2800 lbs axle and a 3800 axle

I was wondering if there is a diff. between a 2800lbs front axle and a 3800lbs axle dealing with the king pins and going with the ball bearing with metal bushings. any info would be helpfull. I also found out that my center link has a bend in it, would that make a diff. with the alignment and steer...

Re: Sudden onset of "death wobble"?

First off, I really appreciate your documentation of what you're going through here. I finally grounded my 67 d200 after the death wobble became more of a half dead gallop! I had known from the onset that my kingpins were in dire need of replacement and upon disassembly it was quite obvious that the...

Re: Dash color

Any correlation between dash color & steering wheel color? It appears that my white wheeled dash was done in black over the factory blue-green (keep forgetting the proper name for that color!)

Re: Best king pin set

Is that a ball bearing set, or stacked washer bearing? I'm about to do mine on my 67 d200, ordered a set by AC Delco a long while back and, while the bushings and ball bearings appear correct, the king pins are thinner than what was there originally, so I'm going to probably be ordering a different ...

Re: Lower spindle bolt size and length

I have the spindles off of my 67 d200; getting ready to do the king pins.
I can get the specs on the bolts tonight if that'd help.

Re: Front end rebuild part numbers/prices

Has anyone confirmed whether the above parts are compatible on the 67 D200? I'm embarking on the full front end now that the weather has cooled off and rainy season is over here in "the sunstroke state"

Re: might want to check your nuts

A bit off topic but not really (and being a 10 year old thread, I figured it could use a re-torque😁): As teenagers, my friends and I all got the classic car bug; bringing home a 69 Chevelle on the day I got my license set off a chain reaction. Soon, many of the adults in the neighborhood relived the...

Re: Can anyone give me any guidance regarding this disc brake conversion?

Those studs in the picture were too short? I thought they were too skinny. Yeah, with the brake rotor to factor in, just as the SCAREBIRD post indicates, the studs will need replacement, As for the diameter, they fit the hubs just fine; from what I'm being gold, the rotor is to be centered by way o...

Re: Can anyone give me any guidance regarding this disc brake conversion?

So, I am currently prepping to replace the lug studs, clean the matting surfaces, repack the bearings, and reinstall the front wheels, this time on studs that will not be too short. I understand that I will be removing everything again in order to replace the king pins, but my location isn't ideal t...

Re: Can anyone give me any guidance regarding this disc brake conversion?

Continued ( I type very slow so, after 3 attempts at posting one long comment ended in my post disappearing, I've decided to break em up!) THE REPLACEMENT STUDS: NAPA # 641-3115 (serrated stud 1/2'-20) will allow for the lug nuts to thread 25% BEYOND flush, exactly what my friend George had said sho...

Can anyone give me any guidance regarding this disc brake conversion?

Hello, I am trying to figure out where to begin here.....the typical issue with modifications made by a previous owner. My truck is a 1967 Dodge D200 with front disc brake conversion. After noticing an extremely large amount of play in the wheel doing the 12 and 6 o clock movement by hand at the tir...
