Re: Power Wagon Fuel Economy

Yep, like the others have said, I got 10 MPG average with a 4bbl 318 (mildly ported heads and a bit of cam) and 4.88s. If I was really carful I could get 12-13 but the traffic around me was less than impressed  . When I swapped to the diesel I swear it got into the 30s if I kept it around 55. I...

Re: 8 lug rims

they made the classic five slot aluminum rims in 8 lug for years, unfortunately all the ones that I have seen are 16.5s. I would second the comment about looking into the diesel racing world and seeing what they run, however they will most likely be a more modern look than what you may be looking fo...

Re: My 81 Dodge Crewcab Cummins Conversion

The baby blue truck was around for a while. Then it went to california for a bit. Last time I saw it I think it went back east somewhere. The new owner was on here for a bit... Slick i think you are talking about mine! is that the one frankyb had? if so, she is still alive and well and now resides ...

huh, I kinda thought that 15"s would not fit. by the looks of it they will. Thats a plus, I can still (for now, but its getting harder) find cheap 15" tires and that will keep the wife happy! thanks for the pics!

Re: THE WORST CAR YOU HAVE EVER OWNED

Ive had a lot of "worst" cars! most of the problems I've had can be expected from cars in the free to $500 range but by far my worst was a two way tie: my 83 ford f-150. I had it for 2 years and it ran for a max of 3 (combined!) weeks. most times a day or two at a time. the final straw was the rod t...

pic request: White 8 spoke "wagon" wheels

I have seen a few trucks on here with white 8 spoke rims and the look is growing on me. I'm kinda sitting on a fence: stock 16.5s (what a PITA to find tires!) or just go with some 16" 8 spokes with a set of ATs for my 69 w200. I want to keep the stock look but the 8 spokes are kinda the period thing...

A new sweptline fan added to the family!

I just recently had my first kid! His name is Jackson and he is 6 pounds and 4 ounces and 18 inches long. He was born about five weeks early on 31 March, so he is still in the NICU but he is doing well. I have only been able to see him in pictures because I am half a word away deployed to Iraq right...

Re: Work vs. play

I dont have any pics of the old 'wagon doin her thing but she gets used a lot. She does every thing from drive an 80 mile round trip to work several times a week (with 4.88 gears!) and hauling duties for my home (about 15 over the top of the cab loads of timber, countless loads of trash, rocks, lumb...

HELP FAST!!! how to move with w200 in tow?

I was wanting to know how many people have towed a swept long distances on a rented (U-haul, penske) trailer? i need to move in less then two weeks and need to find the cheapest way to get it from Ca to Ks. first "real" trail run in the w200

for those of you who didn't know i am the lucky new owner of FrankyBs old 69 w200 that was on the for sale forum a few months back. It has proven its self a great truck to just drive around FT Irwin and besides the poor gas milage (4.88 gears) it has yet to let me down. today was no exception. I too...

Re: tire request

i love those astro mud and snows! do they still sell them or are they discontinued? i will most likely get a set of 16" rims and go with the 235/85/r 16s because they are cheap and easy to find.

Re: Key rust spots and how to stop them

first off id like to thank everyone for the great info, just what i was looking for! and yes it was Frankyb's old truck. (P.S. if anyone ever gets a chance to deal with franky in person, he is a great guy and would bend over backwards to help a fellow sweptliner out!) The truck is in great shape and...

I am currently the proud owner of a very clean and rust free w 200 and id like to keep it that way. does any one have suggestions of how to stop some of the prime areas rusting out? i am looking at getting some new door and window seals and was going to pull up the rubber floors and coat them with s...
