Re: New Member with New Project

How did the A body 833 fit up for you, are you happy with the shifter location?

Re: Hood mounted turn signal indicators

Does anyone have a close-up picture of the hood mounted turn signal indicators that were found on some Adventurer Package Sweptlines? I’d kind of like to put them on my truck, but there are several different ones out there and I don’t know which ones come on the Dodge trucks. I’d appreciate any pic...

Re: Long bed to short bed measurements.

Dodgeboykim, it's interesting that all of the literature shows a 14" wheelbase difference from a short to long bed on 65-71 trucks. The guy in that thread cut 15" out of his bed. He removed 5" from the rear.
Looking back at my posts I failed to mention that after cutting off 15" from the fr...

Re: a833 in sweptline

Not sure just yet, I do have a fibreglass cover and boot from a doge truck that had the A833 overdrive version that I would have to modify to fit. I might just build a console and leather boot because the interior will be done in leather anyway. The shifter will be changed to a custom pistol grip al...

Re: a833 in sweptline

@brikar - you used an A Body A833 in your Sweptline? Did you use the A Body shifter? Hurst or Inland? Are you happy with the shifter height and location? Do you know if a B body Hurst stick will bolt up to an A body Hurst shifter mechanism? Trying to find out if they mount the same before I start b...

Re: a833 in sweptline

I had to loosen the shaft nut to spin it up so the bleed valve is near the top to bleed then twist it back downing tighten the locking nut. There's enough hose and flex to do that.

Re: a833 in sweptline

I used a external slave on my A833 A body bolted to the original 383. had to use a bracket for my booster from a early 70's dodge car so I had room for the master. My truck is on a 78 dodge d100 short box frame so I had to go with a hydraulic set up.

Re: 1967 Dodge D100 sheet metal thickness

On my 69 most of the cab was 18 AWG, but there is also 16 AWG and 14 depends on what needs repair. I used a metal AWG tool around the outer edge the old stuff I cut out to make sure.Front cab supports are 14AWG.

Re: 69 swept line long box to short box conversion

If you are using a 78 frame, depending on what you doing with your cab, the shape of the frame over your differential will have you make the bed floor about 2 inches higher than it was before. Thanks,I've read that on a few different posts, I figure I have two options, modify the frame or the box f...

Re: 69 swept line long box to short box conversion

You make it look easy, and the artistry invisible.
I wish that was true, if I was to do it all again I would start with a box that didn't need so much rust repair first, that was the most frustrating part of the build. I was inspired by a guy named Glen Miller(Also Canadian)on you tube that...

Re: 69 swept line long box to short box conversion

Well, it's 90% complete! Really feels good to see it at this stage.Just need to finish a few more spot welds and figure out what to do with the floor, not sure if I should go back to original or do a composite wood or real wood floor with bed strips like the Utiline. I won't be doing that until its ...

Re: 69 swept line long box to short box conversion

Well I finally started work on the box again.First I went through all my welds with a LED light to find any pin holes that I might have missed and closed them up.Then applied the POR15 to the bare metal I won't be able to get at when everything's put back together. Re: Bed Sides Separation

If your looking into removing the tail light cap from the box with out cutting then you will have to get at the two flanges that connect the tail light cap to the outer box wall. This means disassembling the box in the order the box was assembled. first you will have to find all spot welds and drill ...

excellent work! if you can't find one build one I always say :Thumbsup It will be nice to see another sweptline cruising around here in Alberta. I've only come across a few of them on the road here.
