Re: D300 on the Alcan
Been a while since I was on here, thought you folks would get a kick out of the latest rig. D300 with a 4-53 Detroit, NP 540 conversion. Previous owner kept it in pretty good shape, was able to do a 4000 mile road trip with just basic maintenance. Yes, earplugs the whole trip. Gnarly truck! Good to...

It's a Williams inline cam piston pump with circular cams. So I doubt the direction really matters, but I'll ask their engineers. They're very good about getting back to customers.dodgeboykim wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2024 12:12 pmDont forget to make sure rotation is correct for Hydraulic Pump.

Hijack the thread! Well then next time I'll be sure to ask the almighty PwrWgnDrvr for permission to ask a question. Or he could use his divine wisdom to get it back on track (as opposed to taking it even farther off). :shame AFIK, the only threads on this site that are 'property' are Member Build ...

PTO off the 435 trans. Crane is a 1969 Hiab Speedloader. I am no PTO geek. On the truck I am building I have a dual output Braden PTO (output shaft comes out both front and rear) mounted on my NP201. The plan is to run both the winch and the hydraulic pump that runs the dump bed with the same PTO, ...

Re: New Member with New Project
How did the A body 833 fit up for you, are you happy with the shifter location? With as beefy as the arm on a Hurst of that day was, I can't imagine one couldn't cut and weld an extension on it such that it would feel fine. The boot location might be weird though, half-way back under the seat. Gett...

Anyone know what the capped off black hose at the bottom left of the carb is for. Original owner put a short piece of plugged black hose on it. It has 2 hose clamps on it. I dont see any logical place for it to attach. Looks like a positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) line. Do you have a PCV on one...

If you are going to paint the roof, do replace the caulking. Blast the gutters and epoxy prime. Sikaflex 1A works well. I like white because the cab gets so hot in the sun.BigBlockTrucks wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 7:20 pmSo I am considering painting the roof on my 65 power wagon.

Re: Power Steering Conversion Kits
The supplied pitman works correctly except the cone for the drag link end was too shallow to get the end far enough through to get a cotter pin in the castellated nut. This would be a simple fix with the correct reamer. I triple safety wired the nut instead. Leaving it that way puts higher loads on...

FYI - Already have a 1967 W100 with a custom "period" lift that has these size tires with a traditional under mount rear spare (used the factory carrier and modified/lengthened the frame hook ups) and the spare just fits in. ... but it is a pain in the @#% to lift in place. It's a PITA to KEEP it i...

In another thread there’s a factory specified modification that allows you to keep your ammeter and eliminate the troublesome bulkhead connectors in the alternator circuit which are prone to overheating. Most ammeter problems are caused by either loose connections or corroded connections there. I l...

There's a good way to do that but it sure as hell isn't the way Dodge did it:

Re: Wire harness
I see a lot of people online take the alternator guage out and put in a new one. What have you guys done? I have mixed opinions on this one. The volt meter tells you how the alternator is doing in keeping up. The ammeter tells you more about the impact of high-current draw operations. The volt mete...

Re: Drip Rail Trim Removal - '65 D100 Sweptline
Originally they were zinc plated phillips head sheet metal screws, probably 6 GA. Replacing with stainless looks nice if you don't care about the galvanic reaction from the dissimilar metals. If one is worried about electogalvanism, the drip rail is stainless too. That galvanic reaction requires wa...
