A318 vs 318LA Alternator Mount

Does anybody know if these head castings are the same between these two engines for alternator mounting bracket location? I have an A318 with double belt pulleys and want to upgrade to 70's square back alternator. The only model number ( ACDelco 3342211 ) having the 2V 1/2" pulley and center of 1st ...

Re: Blower Switch 1966 W-200

I had a similar problem with mine. I was hoping someone could post a pic of a good 2 speed Blower switch. I found a small cylindlical ceramic insulator rolling around on the floor. Did you get yours fixed? Does anyone know how many amps this resistor draws on Low speed? It sure gets hot.

Utiline Tailgate "DODGE" Decal

My repop tailgate doesn't have the DODGE stamped in it and I'm thinking of having a decal made the same size and style as the original letters. I'm using white letters with black shadow to look like raised letters of original. Has anyone done this?

Re: Wiring help

I grounded battery to block, block to frame, cab to frame and bed to frame. Sand to bare metal and use dielectric grease at all grounds and electrical connections.

Re: turn signals not working right

I have an early '65 that had the same problem. I added a ground wire from each turn signal housing to radiator support. No luck, but found that bulb socket is crimped onto housing that had some corrosion causing high grounding resistance. Fixed problem. Use dielectric grease on ALL connections.

Re: Broken Horn Switch Roller

Thanks, the Super glue with gussets is a good idea. I'll give that a try. And yes, that 'B' body roller bracket looks the same as for the trucks.

Re: Broken Horn Switch Roller

I considered a new one, but my turn signal switch is working fine and those new ones are pricey. The plastic insulator on the grounding roller that the screw goes through is all that's broken. If I have to make it on the Bridgeport I can't justify making only one. Does anyone else have this problem?...

Broken Horn Switch Roller

I need the little piece that is screwed onto turn signal switch that holds the roller for the horn contact. If anyone has a bad turn signal switch with the brass roller attached I am in need of one. Thanks for any help.

Re: wiper linkage disassembly

Also mark the pivot (wiper arm attaches to it) RT and LFT with permanent mark (metal stamp doesn't come off in blast cabinet) because the splines on the pivot may make one wiper hang a little higher and you won't be able to adjust, you'll have to disassemble and switch then. Ask me how I know.again.

Re: wiper linkage disassembly

Make a little tool to press it out. Like a chain breaker tool. I tried the pry method, no luck. Also be sure the rod closest to the motor shaft travels to drivers side, or your wipers will park in the up position! Ask me how I know? I also fished the arm out through inside of cab 15 years ago. Mark ...
