Re: Picking up a LA 360 for a 69 d100

The shop had never done a truck one before and were hesitant to do it. I guess thats why i got screwed a bit.
But can't fault the workmanship.

Re: Picking up a LA 360 for a 69 d100

I've just had my flywheel balanced to 360 specs. I have a new 172 tooth flywheel and was charged $550au to balance, machine and drill to suit clutch.
Bit more than what i was expecting but couldn't do much as needed it.

Re: Engine upgrade.

Thanks for that. Going with an auto looks to be a bit of work due to the trucks not being imported into Australia and trying to find and import a crossmember. Would there be any obstacles with putting a 360 with a manual. I know the bellhousing and gearbox mate up fine. Obviously i would need engine...

Re: Engine upgrade.

I purchased the car with this already done. It appears that this was easily solved by using a wheel barrow bearing in the end of the crank. Unfortunately this has not solved the problem as the bearing failed and has caused the input shaft seal to be excessively worn and the need for the bearings in ...

Re: Engine upgrade.

Hi
There is a cross member under the bell housing that it is rubber mounted to. It appears to be riveted to the frame rails.
At the end of the gearbox there is a crossmember but the gearbox sits above that.
Approx 3/4 along the gearbox there is a custom made cross member that the gearbox mounts to.

Engine upgrade.

Hi currently have a 63 d100 with slant 6 and a833o/d. I'm wanting to swap for a v8 was thinking 318 or 360 with an auto. It's only used for cruising so dont need big hp. What i want to know is what auto should i be looking for. I'm based in Australia and have found we sometimes have different combos...

Hi can anyone tell me what the second spring is for.
I was wanting to put my spring under my axle. Can this still be done? Would i just put axle where block is and remove block?

Re: Fuel tank relocation.

Hi I hadn't seen the posts about mustang tanks. Didn't search far enough. They look to be the best idea and price looks good ok for Australia. There seems to be quite a few in Australia for sale.

Fuel tank relocation.

Hi I'm looking to relocate my fuel tank out of the cab. 1963 d100 slant 6 Being in Australia all the options that I've read about wont work for me due to none of those vehicles being here. Should I look for a tank from a Carby or efi vehicle. A Carby tank I would imagine be easier. Is there a differ...

Re: Newby

Hi Left hand drive cars are becoming more common over here with the import of American cars. Anything over 30yo doesn't need to be swapped to right hand drive. You still get plenty of looks though. The rear bar that was on it was too big. So when it was removed the fill panels were put in to tidy it...

Hi
I've only just recently purchased this 63 D100.
So far I'm just enjoying cruising in it but can feel the modification bug bitting already.
Does anyone know if there are many of these in Australia.
Cheers
