New Alternator, now gauges not working

Howdy Sweptliners, My alternator was dying so I replaced the old 1 wire with a newer 2 wire (along with the corresponding voltage regulator). After replacing the alternator, the Fuel, Speedometer, temp and oil gauges all aren't working (the D/C gauge still is). Prior to the change, the gauges all wo...

Re: Odd Brake Line Setup

Given that my lines to the splitter look terrible and rusty, is there any reason I can’t just replace the whole length from the cylinder to the splitter with steel lines or longer hose? If so, which is better?

Re: Odd Brake Line Setup

I have this setup on my truck and the small flex hoses are leaking. Anyone know what hose size those are? I ordered what is suppose to be the correct size for my truck (‘68 d200) and they are way too long and have the wrong connectors.

Re: Constant 12v for new Radio

12V constant is typically power for the devices memory ( programed presets) and 12V switched is for operational power, on and off with the ignition switch, keyed. If you poke around the fuse box you should find both. Thanks! I have looked at the fuse diagram (here: http://www.sweptline.org/forums/d...

Re: Vin Decoding "SPEC"???

You will probably have to mark the tire and count the pinion revolutions to determine the axle ratio, unless there is a tag on the axle. The rear axle is special ordered, as is the spare tire, increased cooling and shock absorber. There was another truck with the same rear axle number and it had 4....

Trying to decode my VIN and figure out what my final drive ratio is as well as the special equipment. Where I believe the axel information should be, it just has "SPEC".

Re: Fast Idle issue

This doesn't help your sticky or short stroke linkage problem but will cause havoc with idle. Is this vac port still uncapped? :2cents Nope - was just unplugged while I was cleaning. So I sprayed a bunch of carb cleaner all over and inside and it seems to have fixed the problem. I also have a rod l...

Thanks. Taking it back to the place that rebuilt it.

Is there something else that could be causing the starter to fail? (thinking ahead given that it was just rebuilt)
