Re: Electrical Help Buss Bar

Others more knowledgeable than me will know the specific routing and colors. The buss bar power comes from the driver's side inner fender mounted relay and is fed through the bulkhead connector next to the driver's side hood hinge. When you disconnect that, the power lead is the large red (10 gauge ...

Ignition Switch Connections

Looking at the overall wiring schematic for a 64-65 D100 I'm able to see the colored leads and their routing to and from the ignition switch. However, I haven't found a larger scale view of the ignition switch that clarifies which ignition switch terminals each colored lead is connected to. I have p...

I believe that's because they do not build parts for inventory any longer but rather "build to order".

This is whom I used. I don't know if they stock anything specifically for our trucks but they can make or copy any type of cable.

Re: a833 in sweptline

I run a Tremec TKO 600 (5speed) with Poly in my series1 65'. I steered away from the internal hydraulic slave cylinder and instead used an external pull-type slave that I adapted to the side of the transmission. I did remove the factory cross member and then fabricated a replacement that fit the con...

Re: Stalling issue w/ a 318

I would start with getting a $10 piston stop and find out where TDC really is. It sounds like your harmonic balancer may have spun in the elastomer making the timing marks on the balancer out of position and unusable.

Re: Front axle (2WD) disc brake conversion

Yes there are others although I'm not clear on what other models and years. You can often tell by the external appearance as in the picture below. The cylinder is larger at the firewall (flange) end which is the "take-up" volume.

Re: Front axle (2WD) disc brake conversion

It would be nice to be able to get some specs on the new brackets but as mentioned, that would likely only happen when someone is able to get a set and copy them. I wasn't even aware they had come out with a 2nd design that used other caliper assemblies. The main problem with the earlier Scarebird p...

Re: Front axle (2WD) disc brake conversion

Scarebird says they're going out of business. I've got the older setup that doesn't use the metric caliper. Wish I had the newer setup since there are so many more caliper (Wilwood) and pad options. Best bet is going to be trying to find the backing plates used if you want to go that route. I did t...

I have a new set of the Tough Country bars still in their original packing material. The nice aspect of these is that the bar is on top of the rearend so ground clearance and rearend appearance is not affected. If interested I would offer a substantial reduction over Summit, Jegs, etc. Please PM me ...

Re: bumpsteer

Something (or possibly several things) are strange with your front axle and suspension. Dropped tie rod ends (like those you removed) are used when the tie rod has been placed on a different level due to the axle being repositioned from lowering (regardless of the method used to lower the axle). The...
