Re: pre-65 custom emblem location/meaurement

Time flies. I hope everyone is having a good 2022 so far. Thanks for the wheel Terry. I helped someone today with the radio hole measurement and service documents, but it is interesting there isn't a document specifying exact placement of the emblems nor radio (other than to say to follow the contou...

Re: Wanting to be a lowlife. Patina build. 1964 short bed

There are some great build threads here. Check 'em out. Joe H (Austin local, but soon-to-be near Ann Arbor, MI) just swapped his chassis out for a Crown Vic. Sits pretty darn low. There's also a build just South of Austin on a Chevy chassis but it seems it has been lifted since it was on an Astro Va...

Re: Gas Pedal and Linkage Change

I used a Dodge Dart A body pedal assembly in my 66, Cable attached to pedal assembly instead of a square hole in firewall. It no longer has the pedal pivoted from floor. Pedal is hinged on arm instead. I can't help much as I don't know what pedal assembly was used by the prior-prior owner, but it d...

Re: steering damper...

Well the price is right at least. This looks like something I'd put on my VW which as you said keeps the small imperfections in the road from fighting you. But it is small enough that it doesn't take much effort to overcome. I have my caster way back at 8 degrees so not sure I'd need this but may be...

Re: getting the tranny out of a '69

Ah nevermind... A100.. I'm of no help here... My truck is a swapped in automatic, and I'm pretty sure that the engine and trans were guided in from the front as a unit. Like you, I have easily removed the rear-most tail shaft cross-mount but the original cross-brace runs directly under my trans pan....

Re: hemi swepty in the collectors guide

I agree - though 20k will barely get you good body work and a paint job these days. But yes, the 318 Poly 2x4 barrel and decent cam has plenty of tire-shredding torque to turn heads. The Cherry Bomb truck has surfaced a couple of times since then. Last I think was in Ohio? Stacey David Gearz did a 4...

Re: HD gauge cleaning

What do you mean chrome center speedo? :thinking Sorry for the suspense. :study The HD gauges have a silver center disc covering the needle pin. The (early?) CSS gauges have a chrome center disc. There was probably some overlap in there over the years. But I found both early and later replacement g...

Re: HD gauge cleaning

Got a set of the HD gauges and was wondering if there’s away to get the speedo apart to clean the inside of the glass and paint the needle. I can’t figure out a way. Got the others apart and cleaned and painted those needles. Haven’t tried the rpm gauge yet I've thought about using a speedo restora...

Check my build thread for pics of my booster setup from Pirate Jacks https://piratejack.net/. You might also check out the hemi-offset-style adapter from Dr. Diff http://www.doctordiff.com which will move the assembly over an inch or so.

You are so close to Idaho. Pay a little more and buy a truck with less rust, and that is ready to fly out and drive back.

Re: Brighter headlights?

I agree. I put relays on the '74 Plymouth that I had (sold to buy my truck) and it was a big difference. I'd rather have 4 hi-lo, rather than single low + low/high. Most of the time when I can't see well enough, I also don't have the option to put my brights on. I'd like to put a fog LED light bar b...
