Re: NP201 v. NP205
The biggest problem I could see with swapping the internals of the 205 into the 201 is that the PTO unit from the 201 probably will not mesh with the gears of the 205, so then you would have to possibly modify the PTO unit if possible. The better alternative would seem to be the usage of the NP200 o...

http://www.myhellalights.com/index.php/products/auxiliary-lamps/sealed-beam-conversion-headlamps/vision-plus-7in-conversion-headlamp/ Last time I checked these are about 45 a piece. I run the E-code/ECE set on both my CJ7 and my Motorcycle. If you combine with a relay harness you can up the wattage ...

Re: unstable steering, alignment specifications?
For every one inch of delta between the front and rear ride heights (i.e. rear raised inch, or front dropped inch, split 50/50, etc) results in a .05 degree caster change in a 114" wheelbase truck. Did u mean 0.5 degree rather than .05? (that would be 1/2 degree, rather than 1/20th degree) Yeah, yo...

Re: unstable steering, alignment specifications?
A "Toe-out" condition, in an otherwise acceptable alignment would mostly cause a lot of tire noise and perennial understeer. Excessive toe-in could cause similar tire noise, but the driving dynamics would tend towards oversteer. Neither of which you are describing. Your description is the exact desc...

Re: New guy messed up!
I have an entire 76 Dodge 44HD with lockouts, located near Toledo, OH, but it's a drum brake axle... you'd still need a few specific parts to convert to discs. How did you get a 76 with drum brakes? 74 was the last year for drums. It could have been swapped. It was this old plow truck I scrapped ab...

Re: New guy messed up!
Most late dana 44 (and even some 30) parts (73 and up) are interchangeable from the axle yokes out. Dodge/Chevy/Jeep all use the same six bolt knuckle to spindle interface (with the exception of the small pattern dodge full time). The cheapest way for 8-lug is to grab the everything from a chevy dan...

They're is a company that sells bell housings that bolt to transmission using pump bolts. The existing bell housing has to be cut off just even with front edge of pump. Don't remember company name.

Re: 64-65 tail light housing removal
I did something similar on my '63 which had International Truck tail lights poorly installed. I ordered 24 LED rear rubber mounted housings, and installed them. I had to trim opening in the same way, but the rubber housing fit fine in the factory stamping.

Re: Clutch master cylinder with two plugholes
Any auto parts store that carries brake line fittings should have it. I have seen it listed as a "Brake Line Plug". I used one to plug the distribution block line going to the rear brakes when I converted to a dual master cylinder.

As long as the wheel has a modern safety bead profile, you shouldn't have a problem with modern radials.

Re: Tie Rod Help PLEASE!
I don't remember seeing it before, but rock auto lists Dorman part#532242 for the left outer and #534252 for the right outer, with both in stock. (63 D100 5.2l) Of course Dorman tie rod ends.... The cross-reference guides lists the right outer (ES410R - the easy to find one) common with all Jeep CJ....

Ported vs Manifold Vacuum primer, yeah, it's a chevelle site, but the information is still relevant. http://chevellestuff.net/tech/articles/vacuum/port_or_manifold.htm Wrong. It’s a street car and heavy truck. Put it on the ported and adjust correctly. Chevelle shipping weight (2 door coupe w/ v8) ...

Re: Electric power steering mod
I have been seriously considering it... I have a second column to play with and experiment on. There are a few different options for making them work depending on what vehicle you pull the unit out of. The vehicles that have the column mounted electric booster are starting to get plentiful in the lo...

Re: Lug Pattern Swap/ Tubular Drop Axle
The rear would be the easiest. Grab any 1986 or later full size truck 9 1/4 rear. 2000+ would give you rear discs. Fronts get a little more interesting, the only vehicles I know of that used a 5x5.5" lug pattern and non unitized bearings were 85-93 B/D150's and 73-93 E/F 100/150's. The good thing is...

Re: Noob Membery
I think it's interesting that you cite fuel tank regulations and concern over insurability, but are willing to randomly update axle strength to increase front GAWR. Swapping axles/drive trains WILL NOT increase allowable load limits over factory limitations. (MAX F/R GAWR, GVW, Tow capacity ect.) No...

Trying to grasp 1/2 of the axle. Seems like the distance would equal the spring pack plus the whole axle width?i would measure from the top of the spring pack where it sits now to the bottom of the axle where it would sit after the flip???? Correct? Ride height would be measured at axle center. In ...

Thanks for all the input. I read all the forums and many said to remove leafs 2 and 4 and get a 3 inch drop with no issue, we’ll not true. I removed 2 and 5 to get less drop to be safe and leveled the back by removing 3 leafs out of a 5 pack and my 66 rides like crap. Floats around, body roll and d...

I used RAYBESTOS MC36307 on my '63 that I just finished my disc conversion on. It is listed as a one year only for a 72 100 series truck, and 70-75 B, C, & E bodies. The number given above corresponds to RAYBESTOS MC36460 Listed for 73-78 D/W100,200,300, Ramcharger, and 74-78 C-body. I couldn't tell...
