Wheel Back Spacing
I'm looking at buying a new set of 15" wheels for my '71 D100. Does anyone know the max backspacing I can use without running into problems on stock axle configuration?
Any tire size recommendations? I'm looking at 255/70R15.
All input is welcome before I throw down $$$$.

Re: Steering Power Assist
That's great info thanks.
I put the ram in my lathe this morning and cut the weld open from the non business end. I'm going to see if I have an old shock absorber with the same size chrome shaft that I can retrofit. If not I'll just make a new shaft from stainless steel. Will keep you posted.

Re: Steering Power Assist
I also pulled the steering gear box from the donner truck. It looks different than my manual steering one. Does it matter which one I use with power assist?

Re: Need Help (63 d500 dump truck)
Are you trying to keep it close to original? I bought an aluminum three row for $168.00 off eBay. It did't bolt up like the listing said, but I made some mounting brackets and it cools better than any stock one ever could.

Thanks for the advice Txas2step. H'burg is a nice town but we don't have Papadeaux or Papasitos like you do!

Re: Steering Power Assist
I found it at a mopar salvage yard and pulled it from a non running truck. The chrome on the ram's' shaft is waisted and it's covered in greasy grime from it's age.

Steering Power Assist
I have a power steering system that I needs to be rebuilt. Does anyone sell the parts to overhaul the control valve arm and ram? Has anyone had one of these rebuilt by a shop? Any recommendations would be welcome!

Re: Replacement Bench Seat
I lucked up and found a local guy with a mopar salvage yard. I pulled a bench seat from one of his trucks but it needs to be recovered. Is there anyone like Yearone that makes replacement seat covers for the original seat frames?

Re: Replacement Bench Seat
I'm not into keeping it original. I like how yours turned out. Fabrication isn't an issue.
Thanks!

Re: Replacement Bench Seat
That's a nice ride. Which year C10 did your seat come from?
I have a '71 SWB sweep line. Currently has a slant 6 three speed manual. Going to put a big block, 4 speed or maybe auto tranny ( still undecided).

Replacement Bench Seat
Has anyone used a bench seat out of a newer model truck to replace the original? I picked up a 71 swept line and someone had installed bucket seats in it. I wanted to hit up the local pick a part but wasn't sure what would fit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
