ya, it is the heavy black wire that has the fusible link in it. the wire or fuse that's bad, but the connector itself. completely baffled by the fact that I carefully followed that wire inside the truck and it goes towards the dash cluster yet it is cut at the end and hooks to nothing yet the truck ...

here's what really baffled me today. (yes, running a jumper down to the relay would crank it earlier, but NO start. So, I put a jumper from the + battery to the + on the coil. I figured I would jump it at the relay to start it , just for fun I tried the key and it cranked & started. I understand it ...

My 69 was like Mr. Mopars since mine has a pair of travel tanks- I can see where the sticker was , but the switch and the sticker are gone now . the tanks remain. d:-)

digdoug, hang a modern Pepboys plastic cupholder on that hook and then you have old meets new :-) . Shaken(severely), not stirred
