Re: Time to dig 'em out

Finally get to go racing! Not sure this is the best weather, but the grandkids are anxious to go. Only took me two hours to get the trailer out once I got the truck hooked up. The wheel chocks were frozen in about three inches of ice and naturally the trailer had sunk about that far into the ground ...

Re: Rebuild. Maybe?

It is possible that when you ran out of fuel some dirt/water/debris was flushed into the carb. It may start running okay after driving it for a while. Usually if something gets into the carb it wont idle properly. Where you say it will get to 4500 rpm I doubt there is any engine damage from over rev...

Re: Time to dig 'em out

IMG_1516.JPG IMG_1515.JPG Thankfully we did not race this weekend. Too much snow around. Most of the side streets are still buried in snow and frozen slush. Plus buildings and carports are collapsing all over the area. A mobile home around the corner from me collapsed, walls and all. Luckily it was...

Time to dig 'em out

Going a little bit crazy sitting around watching it snow. Lived here all my life and have never seen this much snow on the ground here on the valley floor. Seven inches is a lot for here. Now I need to dig out the truck and trailer since racing starts next weekend. I figure it will take most of the ...

Re: 69 La 318 engine color

I prefer black for the block, heads, front cover and water pump. It keeps them in the background so that any chrome, aluminum or other accessories become the focal points. Lighter colors tend to stain easily. However, black does make it a bit more difficult to pinpoint a leak. I also use brake clean...

Re: Chrysler 273-V8

I had a 67 Coronet 440 with a 318 block/crank and a stock 273 cam, heads 2bbl and headers with straight through glass packs. The valves were adjusted .002" wider than specs the distributor was recurved but otherwise set to factory specs. It was one of the smoothest running engines I've ever seen. I ...

I really like that party bus. That would be the perfect tailgating rig. You have definitely come to the right place for information. There is an amazing amount of help and inspiration from the people on this site. I'll let someone else answer your question on which wheels you need. As far as the lef...

Re: Is this called a Bypass Hose?

Thermostats begin to open at the temperature stamped on them and most are fully opened about 20 degrees F after that. An engine that has a low operating temperature may have poor fuel economy, can dilute the engine oil because of unburned fuel and can form sludge in the crankcase due to excessive co...
