Leaf Springs questions
I read my chitons and it did not refer to the leaf springs bushings, only the removal of the springs.
Do I need to remove the spring form the axle to change the leaf spring bushings ?

Re: Transfer case was warm
I felt the ones that are joined. Just never felt one that was divorced after I had driven it. Seems to work well. The is a chance that I put the pinion yoke seal in backwards.

I thought it might be. Never actually crawled under and touched to after driving.PwrWgnDrvr wrote:Warm to hot is normal for any gearbox. Caused by friction. Basic physics.

Transfer case was warm
1968 W100 About a week ago I needed 4wd to get out of some rough ground so I locked the hubs and pulled the lever back into 4wd. Got out no problem. It was a bit harder than usual to push the 4wd lever forward and it went with a bit of a clunk. Thought I would unlock the hubs when I got home about 5...

Awesome, thanks.
Got the entire truck down to one tiny leak. Pretty proud of that. Think I can stop the last leak this week. Then the bushings and some shocks.

Re: Diff seals
Yes, I realize it could leak. I have a clear view of it when its parked and don't drive it out of town. Wondering if there are any other reasons. I do intend on changing it, however I may leave it in for a while toes what it does. Gif the OD and ID are the same either way and its not interaction wit...

Engine oil Rotella ?
I have a 1968 W100.
I read a topic a while back and someone was suggesting running Shell Rotella in a Dodge gasoline engine.
In a 1971 era 360 with about 8,000 miles on it, would that be a good choice ?
I live a a ski area at almost 10,000' asl and its cold a lot.
Any other suggestions ?

Diff seals
I have a 1968 W1oo. I replace the rear pinion shaft seal on the Dana 60 rear diff. It was the first time so I had to take it out 2 times for a total of 3 inistals with that seal. Know it would probably leak but replacing it was cheap so I did that. Upon installing the new seal, I noticed that I had ...
