Re: Drive Shaft Phasing
Just as an update on the drive shaft vibration I was getting. When I did the rear axle flip on my '65 the driveshaft no longer had the free play at the transmission yoke that it had prior to lowering. I ended up getting the driveshaft shortened about 1.5" than rebalanced. So now, the vibration is go...

Drive Shaft Phasing
I recently completed the rear axle flip on my '65. The driveshaft and rear diff are in near perfect alignment. When getting to around 35 MPH I'm now getting a driveline vibration. When doing the rear axle flip I did not mark the driveshaft when I pulled it out so I'm figuring it's out of phase now. ...

Re: Axle Flip Results
On the lowered front, there are simply two leaf springs removed. Now the remaining front axle springs are tired and saggy so I'm certain that helps lower it a bit too. Ideally, I'd like to lower the front a bit more in order to level the ride height. I'm thinking that the front is where I should spe...

Re: Axle Flip Results
Guys, Thanks for your thoughts. I had never done a rear axle flip and my first thought was that with the axle now on top of the leaf springs, adding another leaf spring would push the axle further up and thus lower the truck a bit more. It was a lot of effort flipping the axle so I didn't want to sp...

Axle Flip Results
So on my '65 Utiline, I just recently completed the axle flip. With the flip I also removed the two smallest leaf springs as well. I've got the truck sitting really low in the rear now and she's looking good. The problem is the truck bottoms out pretty easily and I'm tail dragging a bit too. I'm gon...

'65 D100 Rear Differential Servicing
I recently purchased a '65 Utiline and started a Build thread about two weeks back. I've since replaced everything in the front brakes to try and solve a pulling to the passenger side. Today I pulled the rear brakes as the pull continues and discovered the shoes on the drivers side coated in grease....

Re: '65 Brake Rebuild
You're awesome! I switched the springs and everything went back together like it should. I'm greatly appreciative. I'll get to the passenger side tomorrow and of course, take a pic first.
Thanks again,
Chris

'65 Brake Rebuild
So I just replaced the shoes, hardware and wheel cylinder on the drivers side of my '65 Utiline. I've got the adjuster pushing the shoes out as far as they will go and still be able to get the drum on, but the adjuster is all floppy. It doesn't contact the star wheel at all. From looking at the pic,...
